Rosanne Barr
Travelling the remote northern coastlines of Scotland and more recently the panoramic, rugged lands of Orkney, drives artist Rosanne Barr to capture dramatic seas, ever-changing skies, busy harbours and secluded bays. Rosanne paints instinctively; the canvas becomes the palette and each painting an experiment. Using large brushes, she swiftly creates an emotive sense of movement and colour in sea, sky and land. In September 2013, Rosanne was featured in Vogue magazine: "Rosanne Barr sets the tone for a new generation of Scottish Landscape Artists. Colour and movement, dramatic skies and evocative foregrounds reveal nature's wildest coastline." ( Vogue, Sept 2013).
Rosanne has been awarded a Silver and Gold medal in successive years in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Galleries Drawing Competition - and a Licentiate of Distinction by the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Most recently, she has been newly elected as Vice President of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists. As well as exhibiting in several group shows, Rosanne has received invitations to appear with leading galleries across the UK and at Glasgow, Edinburgh and London Art Fairs. Rosanne's work is in numerous private collections including Dubai, New Zeeland, USA, Thailand and Canada.
