Tom Buchanan is a London based artist and illustrator. His recent graphic artworks using found plates is based on a fascination about the relationship of bringing together unlikely objects. Each plate is presented in a bespoke deep wooden box frame, colour tinted to accentuate the ceramic or story.
"Image making is my vocation and an eternal work in progress. Although in awe of the digital process, I've always had a love for the tactile, experimenting with assemblage and the endless possibilities of box art."
"Playing with the conventions of dimension, I started to make surrealizing scenarios using a mixture of textures, original imagery & found objects. In effect, they’re an animated freeze, layered together like a suspended theatrical stage set."
