As a largely self-taught landscape photographer, Mark Sunderland conveys his personal vision of the natural world through his photography. Mark has travelled extensively through the Western USA on several workshops with US based British landscape photographer Nigel Turner, and a continuing theme of Mark's work has been to capture purely abstract images of the natural patterns that are abundant in the sandstone of the Colorado Plateau. He says; 'I feel no need to set this landscape in context with sky, people or trees - just to study the shapes and forms under the best lighting, whether direct, diffused or reflected'. Mark has been published in a number of photography magazines, and is now working as a freelance photographer, based in Salisbury.
