Photographer Ken Morton was born and grew up in County Durham, and studied Fine Art at Sunderland College of Art - specializing in painting, drawing and photography 'At that time, I was always interested in landscapes and organic forms, finding the works of painters such as, the late Peter Lanyon and Sheila Fell. It was this that drew me to work on large canvases in both acrylic and oil, trying to combine landscape with a degree of abstraction'.
Over the subsequent years, Ken carved out a career as an illustrator, with some eighty books and over a thousand greetings cards being published. He became interested in digital photography as a vehicle to start creating and experimenting again in abstraction. He swapped his paintbrush with a light pen, and gravitated back to the organic forms and landscapes which originally provided him with inspiration.
