Rob Hart's atmospheric abstract landcapes of the north of England are widely exhibited and collected. They are the result of a combination of observation, memory and experience. The changing relationship of weather and light has a profound influence on the feel of his paintings. Rob explains, 'I use colour to evoke moods and feelings...the luminosity of light and colour experienced in landscape fascinates me. The paintings evolve mostly through improvisation; working intuitively I explore initial motifs and ideas without any fixed notions of meaning or, what a finished painting will look like.'
