Sheilagh Jevons was born in Scotland, and is now based in Shropshire. She originally studied art through the Open University, and some years later went on to a degree in Fine Art at Wolverhampton University. Her work embodies a sense of space and intimacy, based on the idea of movement across the landscape to convey a sense of the past, present and future. She has found particular inspiration in a ruined convent on the remote Scottish island of Iona. In her paintings, she celebrates a past way of life and spiritual atmosphere, captured in the present by her distinctive painting style.
